Star Program
Star Program/General Program Information
The Independence School District Adult Education and Literacy program was awarded STAR program status by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. STAR program status is awarded to those programs that demonstrate Continuous Quality Improvement in all area.
The AEL program services three area districts and over 1,400 students per year. The program strives to increase family literacy, provide essential work skills, and assist students in obtaining their GED.
